Epson launches new interactive ultra short throw projector

The Epson EB-870Ei interactive ultra short throw projector has been revealed. On show at ISE 2026 alongside the EB-XQ2030B, this model is designed for use in the classroom as a tool to encourage collaboration.
Epson’s EB-870Ei is marketed as a 4KE (3,840 x 2,160 px resolution) projector, using the brand’s 4K enhanced technology. It has a laser light source, delivering up to 5,000 lumens brightness, with an estimated lifetime of 30,000 hours. This model can produce images up to 130 inches wide; while it is said to offer an ultra short throw ratio, the exact throw ratio has yet to be confirmed.
According to Epson, the EB-870Ei has a wide range of connectivity options, including Miracast, Wi-Fi, Ethernet and the brand’s iProjection tool. Launching alongside this UST education projector are an updated control box which now features USB to power the source device, and an easy to install wall mount. Plus, it works with Epson’s new and improved interactive pens, which are rechargeable, running for around a week between charges.
It remains to be seen when the Epson EB-870Ei interactive ultra short throw projector will be released, and how much it will cost.
