Sharp releases new laser projectors with up to 7,000 lumens brightness

Sharp has launched its new P Series projectors in the US. These models, such as the XP-P621U-W and XP-P701U-W, are designed for business use. For example, the company suggests that they could be used in a meeting room, a classroom or a museum.
The Sharp P Series projectors have a native WUXGA (1,920 x 1,200 px) resolution, with support for a 4K UHD signal. Each LCD model is equipped with a laser light source, which should run for around 20,000 hours. While the XP-P621U-W is said to deliver up to 6,200 lumens, the XP-P701U-W has a higher maximum brightness of 7,000 lumens.
According to their product listings, the Sharp P Series XP-P621U-W and XP-P701U-W projectors have a 1.08-1.76:1 throw ratio, a maximum image size of 300 inches, and a 3,000,000:1 contrast ratio. Users can adjust the image as necessary with manual horizontal and vertical lens shift tools, and the models offer 1.6x zoom. Connectivity options include HDMI and HDBaseT HDCP 1.4 ports, and they support Creston and AMX. Another notable feature of these P Series models is a built-In 16W speaker.
At US retailer B&H Photo Video, you can order the Sharp XP-P621U-W for $3,449, or the Sharp XP-P701U-W for $4,499. These projectors are also available via select retailers in Europe, such as visunext.
