Xgimi launches new budget portable projector with integrated gimbal stand

The Xgimi Z6X 5th Generation Projector has been released in China. This new budget model, designed for use in a living room or when camping, has arrived almost a year after the brand launched the Z6X Pro model in this market.
Xgimi’s new Z6X is a DLP projector with a 1080p (1,920 x 1,080 px) resolution. Its LED light source is said to deliver up to 550 CVIA lumens brightness, or 510 ISO lumens brightness. This model has a 1.2:1 throw ratio, though its maximum recommended image size is not provided. Other listed specifications include 124% coverage of the Rec. 709 color space, MEMC motion smoothing and image perfecting tools like automatic focus and keystone correction.
The Z6X has an integrated gimbal stand, allowing the projector to tilt up to 150°, so you can project pictures on the wall or ceiling. It runs the brand’s GMUI 6.0 operating system with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity. Plus, it can integrate with the Xiaomi smart home ecosystem. Ports on the device include HDMI 2.1 (eARC) and USB, and there are two integrated 3W speakers with Dolby Audio. It is worth noting that, despite being advertised as portable, this model does not have a built-in battery. However, it is compact and lightweight, measuring 235 x 228 x 64 mm (~9.25 x 8.98 x 2.52 inches) and weighing 1.1 kg (~2.38 lbs).
In China, the Xgimi Z6X 5th Generation Projector retails for CNY 2,099 (~$306). It is unclear whether or when a version of the product could be released in other markets like the US, where the brand already sells models like the MoGo 2 Portable Projector (curr. $249.99 at Amazon).
