Galaxy S27 series grows: Galaxy S27 Pro leaks with Galaxy S27 Ultra hardware but no S Pen

Samsung is reportedly planning to shake up its flagship smartphone lineup in 2027 by adding a new Galaxy S27 model. Termed the Galaxy S27 Pro, ETNews reports that Samsung is developing the phone as a little brother to the Galaxy S27 Ultra. As such, the Galaxy S27 Pro is expected to share much, if not all, of the hardware of the Galaxy S27 Ultra except the S Pen.
The report claims that Samsung is doing this to better position 2027’s Galaxy S27 lineup against Apple's iPhones. Currently, Apple offers four top-tier iPhone models: The standard iPhone 17, the iPhone Air, the iPhone 17 Pro, and the iPhone 17 Pro Max. So, the Samsung Galaxy S27 series could consist of the following models:
- Galaxy S27
- Galaxy S27 Plus
- Galaxy S27 Pro
- Galaxy S27 Ultra
While the report doesn’t specify any screen size, it makes sense for Samsung to follow Apple’s lead and offer the Galaxy S27 Pro as a compact Galaxy S27 Ultra alternative. Apple does this with the iPhone 17 Pro, where the phone shares the hardware, including the SoC and the camera system, with the iPhone 17 Pro Max but features a much smaller display.
Many fans would arguably love the Galaxy S27 Pro to be the same size as the standard Galaxy S27 but with the hardware of the Galaxy S27 Ultra. This will not only differentiate the Galaxy S27 Pro from the Galaxy S27/S27 Plus but will also give people a reasonable alternative to the Galaxy S27 Ultra without jumping ship to other brands.
Sadly, it is still too early for the exact hardware details of the Galaxy S27 Pro to come out. Things like the camera system, the SoC, and battery capacity are still under wraps.
That said, we’ve started hearing murmurs regarding the hardware of the Galaxy S27 Ultra, like the new ISOCELL HPA 200 MP main camera and the Exynos 2700 SoC. So, it is only a matter of time before hardware details of the Galaxy S27 Pro start popping up.
