Canon is set to launch a brand new full-frame camera in just a few days, which will apparently be €350 cheaper than the EOS R6 III, despite some better features. The EOS R6 V is said to record 7K RAW videos and be equipped with a fan.

After rumors revealed first details of the Canon EOS R6 V back in mid-April, CanonRumors has now been able to find out more information about the price and features. According to this report, the camera will be officially launched on May 13, 2026 and will then be offered at a price €350 lower than the Canon EOS R6 III ($2,799 on Amazon).

The list price is therefore likely to be €2,549 in Europe, or around $2,499 in the US. The EOS R6 V is supposed to look like a larger EOS R50 V, but is technically more similar to the EOS R6 III, as Canon apparently uses the same 32.5 megapixel full-frame sensor in both cameras, which achieves a light sensitivity of ISO 50 to 102,400. However, the EOS R6 V was developed specifically for videographers. For this reason, Canon is said to install an active fan that prevents the camera from overheating during long video recordings. The Canon EOS R6 V is said to be able to record 7K RAW videos at up to 60 frames per second.

In order to make the more affordable price and the smaller body possible, Canon has reportedly done away with the electronic viewfinder and the mechanical focal plane shutter. Instead, a 3-inch display with 1.62 million pixels is available. Canon is said to use the same LP-E6P battery as in the EOS R6 III, but with a weight of 598 grams, the new model is 101 grams lighter than the EOS R6 III. At the same time as the camera, Canon is also said to be launching a new BR-E2 remote control on the market, although no further information is yet known.
