HMD set to launch new affordable smartphone next week with 6,000 mAh battery

Following several teasers, HMD has now officially confirmed the launch date for its latest Vibe 2 5G smartphone. Speaking more precisely, the company is all set to launch the smartphone on May 21 in India. Alongside this, HMD has also revealed key specifications of the smartphone via Flipkart. 

The HMD Vibe 2 5G will come as a direct successor to the HMD Vibe (curr. available at $72.59 on Amazon), which debuted in India in September last year. The Flipkart listing suggests the successor brings significant upgrades over the last generation model in terms of design, battery, and color options. The device is said to be equipped with a large 6,000 mAh battery with support for 18 W wired charging.

This time around, HMD will offer more color options than before. The Vibe 2 5G will come with three color options, including cosmic lavender, nordic blue, and peach pink. Furthermore, the Flipkart listing has revealed that the smartphone now comes with a new rear panel design. To be more precise, the rear panel design of the HMD Vibe 2 5G pretty much resembles Apple’s latest iPhone 17 Pro, featuring a rectangular camera island that houses two sensors complemented by an LED flash. 

It’s said to feature a 50 MP primary camera. However, HMD hasn’t revealed any details about the secondary sensor and selfie snapper of the Vibe 2. Nevertheless, the brand hasn't revealed the processor, display, and pricing information of the smartphone yet. However, what we know is that the Vibe 2 5G will be available for purchase via Flipkart and other authorized offline retail stores.
