Compact flagship smartphone with ultra-thin bezels and bargain potential reviewed

Our review of the OnePlus 15T provides several good reasons to buy it. Unlike OnePlus' current flagship phone, however, the T model will probably not officially launch in Europe. A global version currently seems more likely. As an import, the China version starts at a fairly low price for the hardware on offer. Our loan provider TradingShenzhen charges around $660 for the base variant.
That sounds like a good deal, which could make importing from China attractive for many users. Unlike Xiaomi phones from China, ColorOS is also very usable in Europe thanks to its multilingual package and Google integration. Even Android Auto is supported.
OnePlus 15T has one big downside
The bottom line is that importing remains one of the biggest weaknesses of the OnePlus 15T. Because the compact Android phone is not officially available in Europe, it lacks several LTE bands of varying importance, including band 20 for wide-area coverage and band 32 as an additional download channel for higher 4G speeds.
China versions also do not support Wear OS, and eSIMs cannot be used either. However, the latter can be "fixed" with an eSIM adapter for the physical SIM card slot.
Another issue is warranty and service. Statutory warranty claims can generally be enforced against the seller, but in practice, returns to China in warranty cases are unclear. With our import unit from TradingShenzhen, it is possible to send the OnePlus smartphone to a European shipping address within the first 12 months in the event of a warranty claim.
