Samsung rolls out One UI 8.5 to over 40 Galaxy smartphones and tablets

After the Samsung Galaxy S26, the Galaxy S26+ and the Galaxy S26 Ultra ($1,299 on Amazon) have already been shipped with One UI 8.5, many of the new software and AI features are now also coming to older smartphones and tablets. Samsung has confirmed in a press release that the rollout of One UI 8.5 has started today, first in Korea, with other regions following in mid-May. The update will first be offered for the following smartphones and tablets:

As usual, it will probably take several months before the update is available for download for all compatible smartphones. We have summarized details on the new features in this article. One UI 8.5 overhauls the user interface in places with new menus and navigation bars, and introduces new AI features, including Photo Assist to further refine AI-generated images and a smarter Bixby voice assistant.
