HP releases Panther Lake-powered mini PC with eGPU support
HP recently quietly launched the Intel Wildcat Lake-powered OmniDesk Mini, and some of the Panther Lake configurations have also become available for purchase. This Core Ultra Series 3 variant was initially introduced at Computex 2026, but the company didn't put it on shelves at the time.
On Best Buy US, two Intel Panther Lake configurations are listed. One of them comes with the Intel Core Ultra 7 356H, while the other features the Core Ultra 5 325. Of the two, the former is more capable, but neither comes with the Arc B390 or B370 iGPUs.
Instead, both have the 4-core Xe3 iGPU, which can't even compete with the aging Radeon 780M. On the bright side, both configurations bring eGPU support through the Thunderbolt 4 ports. Speaking of the ports, the port configuration of the Panther Lake OmniDesk Mini is as follows:
- 2x Thunderbolt 4 with DisplayPort 2.1
- 2x USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A
- 1x USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A With DisplayPort 2.1
- 1x HDMI 2.1
- 1x LAN
- 1x 3.5mm audio
There's quad display output support, and HP highlights that the sleek and compact design will make the mini PC fit easily in most workspaces. Another notable aspect of this OmniDesk Mini is support for Thunderbolt Share, which allows users to connect two units together so they operate as a single unit.
Both configurations are available with 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and a 512GB SSD on Best Buy. The one with the Core Ultra 7 356H is going for $1,509.99, while the Core Ultra 5 325 option is retailing for $1,089.99. So, both are more expensive than the base M6 Apple Mac mini.
Interestingly, HP lists another configuration on its EU website, and it comes with the more capable Core Ultra 9 386H and 24GB of RAM. It's listed at €1,899.00, but is not available to purchase yet.
