Peladn has introduced a new affordably priced variant of its W05 mini PC. This variant comes equipped with a powerful 12-core Raptor Lake H CPU and a whopping three M.2 slots for tons of storage.

Just a few days ago, Peladn revealed a new Ryzen 5 3500U-powered variant of its affordable WO5 mini PC. It appears that the budget-oriented mini PC has witnessed yet another configuration, this time being powered by a far more powerful Raptor Lake H CPU.

The budget-oriented WO5 mini PC now packs a powerful 12-core CPU

To be more precise, the Intel Core i5-13500H CPU features a 12-core, 16-thread setup consisting of four performance cores and eight efficiency cores. In raw benchmarks, the 12-core CPU should be able to absolutely demolish the Ryzen 5 3500U variant launched earlier, by as much as 243%.

To be fair, the Core i5-13500H CPU is much closer to the Core Ultra 5 225H Arrow Lake chip launched last year. The CPU should also be able to edge past the AMD Ryzen 5 8640HS APU found in many mid-range mini PCs. In simpler terms, multithreaded performance should be very decent on the system, and the majority of moderately intensive workloads should be doable.

This specific variant of the WO5 mini PC will be equipped with 16 GB of LPDDR4 RAM, as well as a whopping three M.2 slots. Specifically, the mini PC features a single M.2 2280 slot with PCIe 4.0 x4 speeds, another M.2 2280 slot with SATA 3 speeds, and a final M.2 2242 slot also with SATA 3 speeds.

The Peladn WO5 mini PC features a healthy array of ports, including 2.5G Ethernet.

The Peladn WO5 mini PC features a healthy array of ports, including 2.5G Ethernet.

The I/O offer continues to be pretty decent and has been detailed below:

  • Dual HDMI 2.0
  • 4x USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports, single Type-C port
  • 2.5 G Ethernet
  • 3.5 mm audio

There is no scope for discrete graphics, and the mini PC relies on the Iris Xe G7 iGPU with performance that can only keep up with an entry-level Radeon 840M iGPU found in other affordable mini PCs. Clearly, only lightweight graphical workloads and low-end gaming will be possible on the system.

The mini PC is already available for purchase in China, with the 16 GB RAM variant without storage being priced at 2,699 yuan or ~$405, while the variant with 16 GB of memory and a 512 GB SSD is priced at 3,199 yuan or ~$478.

Given that Peladn does tend to bring its products to the global market, an international launch for this specific variant of WO5 mini PC does seem quite likely. In the meantime, folks who require a powerful mini PC with 32 GB of DDR5 RAM can check out the Minisforum X1 Lite, currently available for $663 on Amazon.
