Powerful new mini-PC launches with 128 GB RAM, 10 GbE and Ryzen AI Max+ 395
Thunderobot has returned to AMD's Strix Halo platform with a new mini-PC. To recap, the company introduced the AI Master M7000 laptop earlier this month sporting the Ryzen AI Max+ 395 and up to 64 GB of RAM.
Now, it has released the Station Series AI Workstation with a 2-litre case size. Compared to the company's AI Mini Workstation, the Station Series AI Workstation adopts a taller form factor that resembles the Minisforum MS-S1 Max we reviewed almost a year ago (curr. $2,599 on Amazon).
According to Thunderobot, the Station Series AI Workstation blends three fans with four heat pipes sat within an aluminium alloy frame to maximise heat dissipation. As a result, the mini-PC is said to extract up to 132 W from the Ryzen AI Max+ 395, which can be paired with up to 128 GB of LPDDR5X RAM, of which 96 GB can be assigned as VRAM.
Moreover, Thunderobot includes 1 TB of storage. However, the company has included two spare M.2 slots for adding extra SSDs. The Station Series AI Workstation retails for CNY 26,999 (~$4,022) in China, discounted to CNY 25,499 (~$3,799) for a short time. While a Ryzen AI Max+ Pro 495 model is said to be coming soon, it is unclear if the mini-PC will be sold outside China. For reference, Bluetooth 5.4 and Wi-Fi 7 connectivity are included as standard, as are the following ports:
