GMKtec has confirmed that it will be launching a new high-end mini-PC soon. Arriving before the end of September, the EVO-X5 Pro will be available with 24 TB of storage, a Ryzen AI Max+ Pro 495 APU and 192 GB of RAM, of which up to 160 GB can be assigned as VRAM.

In the last few weeks, multiple mini-PC manufacturers have started embracing AMD’s Gorgon Halo architecture via the Ryzen AI Max+ Pro 495 and its Radeon 8065S iGPU. For example, Minisforum announced the MS-S1 Max P495, while Chuwi unveiled the UniBox AI495 Pro. Also, GMKtec presented the EVO-X5 Pro, which we witnessed earlier this month at IFA 2026 in Berlin.

At the time, GMKtec refrained from revealing anything about when the EVO-X5 Pro would be available. Instead, it detailed the various ways in which the mini-PC would supersede the EVO-X3 and the EVO-X2 we reviewed last year (curr. $2,199 on Amazon). Less than a fortnight later and GMKtec has started to fill in the gaps about when its new mini-PC will be available.

Specifically, the company has confirmed that the EVO-X5 Pro will launch globally on September 28. Scheduled for 07:00 UTC, it was unclear whether this launch will be when GMKtec reveals pricing information or when the mini-PC will be available to purchase. In the meantime, it has outlined a few other details about the EVO-X5 Pro, some of which we observed during IFA 2026.

For instance, the mini-PC will be available with up to 24 TB of storage split across three M.2 2280 SSDs (PCIe Gen 4) and 192 GB of LPDDR5X-8533 RAM. According to GMKtec, up to 160 GB of the latter can be assigned as VRAM, surpassing the 96 GB limit of Strix Halo machines. Additionally, the EVO-X5 Pro contains a 330 W built-in PSU. Multiple machines can be used in a cluster, too. Based on the images revealed so far, GMKtec has included the following I/O:

Front-side

  • 3.5 mm jack
  • 1x fingerprint reader
  • 2x USB Type-A
  • 2x USB4 (40 Gbps)

Rear-side

  • 2x 10 GbE Ethernet
  • 1x 3.5 mm jack
  • 1x DC input
  • 1x HDMI
  • 1x Kensington lock slot
  • 2x USB Type-A
  • 2x USB4 V2 (80 Gbps)
