GMKtec unveils EVO-X5 Pro at IFA 2026: A compact powerhouse with 192 GB RAM built for local AI

At IFA 2026, the manufacturer showcased its latest flagship model, the EVO-X5 Pro. Both the system itself and GMKtec's presentation on the AliExpress stage focused heavily on its local AI capabilities.
At the heart of the mini PC is AMD’s Ryzen AI Max+ 495 Pro SoC, paired with 192 GB of memory. Up to 160 GB of this unified memory can be allocated directly to the integrated Radeon 8065S graphics unit. While such a massive VRAM allocation offers little benefit for gaming, it is critical for accelerating local AI models, which require high-speed memory for optimal performance.
Connectivity options on the GMKtec EVO-X5 Pro are modern and versatile, featuring four USB4 ports alongside two Ethernet jacks, one of which supports 10 Gbps speeds. The USB4 ports enable external GPU expansion—albeit at lower transfer speeds than OCuLink—and allow up to four systems to be chained into a cluster.
During a live demo at GMKtec's booth, the EVO-X5 Pro ran Qwen3.8-Flash-Next, generating output tokens at well into double-digit rates per second for a nearly seamless interactive experience. GMKtec has not yet released pricing or availability details, though the system's substantial RAM capacity guarantees a premium price tag.
