GMKtec releases new compact mini-PC with 64 GB RAM and OCuLink

Earlier this week, GMKtec released the EVO-X3 globally, featuring the same Ryzen AI Max+ 395 chipset as the one we reviewed in last year's EVO-X2 (curr. $1,999 on Amazon). Not to rest on its laurels, GMKtec has now pushed ahead with a new mini-PC that also sits within its EVO series.
This time, the company has returned to its EVO-X1 generation with the EVO-X1 Pro. For context, the EVO-X1 debuted at the start of 2025 with an AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 processor and OCuLink support. As we discussed during our detailed review, the EVO-X1 offers fast CPU and GPU performance considering its compact 110 x 107 x 63 mm case size.
By contrast, the EVO-X1 Pro adopts the newer Ryzen AI 9 HX 470 from AMD's Gorgon Point family. Effectively a re-branded Ryzen AI 9 HX 370, the Ryzen AI 9 HX 470 scores slightly higher in our CPU benchmarks than its predecessor. Also, AMD has overclocked its Radeon 890M iGPU by almost 7% from 2.9 GHz to 3.1 GHz.
OCuLink support returns, as does a PCIe Gen 4 SSD slot, dual Gigabit Ethernet and up to 64 GB of RAM. However, GMKtec has swapped the LPDDR5X-7500 RAM it used inside the EVO-X1 for slower LPDDR5-6400 RAM in the EVO-X1 Pro. The EVO-X1 Pro is already available to order in China with 64 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage for CNY 9,999 (~$1,469). Reportedly, the EVO-X1 Pro will launch globally on July 14 for $1,249.
