This exoplanet, located about 25 light-years from Earth, could be habitable

Astronomers observe the universe in search of new worlds and potential signs of life. But while this question remains unanswered, some researchers have recently studied an exoplanet located in our galaxy, the Milky Way.
Indeed, named GJ 3378 b, it was first detected in 2024 by French astronomers with the Canada–France–Hawaii Telescope and orbits the red dwarf GJ 3378 located about 25 light-years from Earth. As a result, researchers have conducted several studies to better understand this new world.
Thus, according to their results, this exoplanet has a mass 2.3 times that of Earth and an orbital period of 21 days. In addition, it is located in the habitable zone of its star, making it a promising target in the search for potential signs of life elsewhere in the universe.

However, many mysteries still surround this exoplanet. At the moment, astronomers do not know whether it has an atmosphere. It is located very close to GJ 3378, which emits very powerful stellar winds that could strip away its atmosphere.
As a result, to answer this question, astronomers will have to be patient, as they will have to wait until 2040. Indeed, the Habitable Worlds Observatory space telescope will be operational by then, allowing scientists to study this new world and better understand it.
