Oppo's compact OLED tablet heads for global release

An Oppo tablet with the model number "OPD2516" has appeared in Malaysia's SIRIM database. The tablet is listed as the Oppo Pad Mini Matte Display Edition.
The moniker suggests it could be similar to the Oppo Pad Mini's Soft Light Edition sold in China, which also features a matte-finish display. For context, the Pad Mini launched in China in April 2026 as a high-end Android tablet with a compact form factor.
Notably, the same model number has also appeared in India’s BIS database and Singapore’s IMDA database, hinting at a wider global release for the tablet. Meanwhile, the Oppo Pencil 3 and Pencil 3 Pro have also received SIRIM certification.
The Chinese variant of the Oppo Pad Mini features an 8.8-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 2,520 x 1,680 pixels and a 144Hz refresh rate. It is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset and packs an 8,000mAh battery. The tablet starts at CNY 3,699 (~$551) in China for the 8GB/256GB memory configuration.
