Diablo 4 Season 15 release delayed after login issues greet new Switch 2 players

Many gamers, including a new Switch 2 audience, are calling the start of Diablo 4 Season 15 a disaster. Its September 15th release date began with endless reports of login issues, prompting Blizzard to respond. Although the company investigated the cause, it then delayed the Season of Hell's Legacy content drop.
With error code 300008 being common, the snafu appears to be authentication-related. Because the problem is likely server-side, no workaround has allowed players to access the game. PC, Xbox, and PlayStation, and most recently Nintendo users, have all been impacted. The Diablo 4 Switch 2 port launched the same day as the expected Season 15 arrival.
The hack-and-slash RPG is no stranger to server and login issues when updates drop, dating back to Season 1 in 2023. While frustrating, fans are angrier about the lack of communication. Blizzard’s first forum/social media post acknowledged the woes and confirmed it was on the case. Hours later, the company explained:
We’re continuing to address issues affecting today’s launch of Season of Hell’s Legacy. As a result, Season 15 is currently delayed. We appreciate your patience while we work to resolve the issues and we’ll share updates as we have them.
In its latest post, Blizzard announced Season of Hell's Legacy was finally ready for action. More gamers can log in to Sanctuary again, but features like Solo Self-Found may be unavailable. Downdetector shows server complaints declining after peaking at around 12:30 PM EST/6:30 PM CEST. Regardless, unlucky players are still seeing error codes 300008, 300006, or 300202.
BlizzCon 2026 celebrated the Diablo 30th Anniversary and revealed when the new Diablo 4 season would debut. The content has a nostalgic theme, with Deckard Cain, Baal, and Mephisto returning. That said, some fans were less welcoming of the news that Lord of Hatred was the last expansion for the title. However, other updates will continue even as Diablo 5 lurks in 2029.
