The "World of Warcraft - State of Azeroth" event kicks off on January 29. In this special broadcast, executive producer Holly Longdale and game director Ion Hazzikostas will speak in detail about the future of the long-running MMO. The focus will not only on details about upcoming content updates for the modern version and the popular classic servers. Fans are particularly excited about the preview of features from the next major expansion, Midnight, which is scheduled for release after the worldwide launch on March 2. Midnight marks another important step in the overarching World Soul Saga.
In the following weeks, there will be streams on the company's other major brands. Team shooter Overwatch will be in the spotlight on February 4, followed by Hearthstone on February 9. Diablo will round off the series on February 11. This date is a must-see, especially for fans of the dark action RPG series, as the franchise celebrates its 30th anniversary and corresponding festivities can be expected.
Johanna Faries, president of Blizzard Entertainment, promises the community an "outstanding program". She says the company can look back on three and a half decades of history, but has even bigger plans for the future. The event will also serve as a warm-up for the BlizzCon in-house exhibition, which is set to officially return in September 2026. Along with the announcement of the streams, Blizzard has released the video "The Next Chapter", a visual journey through the company's history that shows around 400 physical artifacts from the developers' archives. It's a tribute to the moments and releases that have shaped the studio.
