Expeditions: Rome is a turn-based RPG that immerses you in Ancient Rome. You will have to win battles in Greece, Gaul, and North Africa and improve your skills. But your choices will have consequences, and you'll be able to choose your own destiny.

There are many RPGs on Steam, allowing players to explore various universes. And currently, Expeditions: Rome, a game developed by Logic Artists set in Ancient Rome, is 90% off on the platform, dropping from $44.99 to $4.49. According to SteamDB, this is its lowest price, and this offer ends on February 9, 2026.

Rome is constantly evolving, and many territories are conquered by the Praetorians. You play as a Legate and must forge your own destiny and embody the spirit of Rome through your actions and decisions in Gaul, North Africa, and Greece.

You can create your own character and choose your skills according to your playstyle. Embark on an adventure divided into four chapters with your soldiers and five other unique companions, each with their own story. Each character can be upgraded, and it is also possible to collect and craft weapons and equipment to vary your gameplay.

The battles are turn-based, and you will have to choose the right equipment and strategy to defeat your enemies. But your actions will have consequences on your destiny, and you can follow Rome or forge your own path in this vast world.

Inspired by historical events, this RPG has received good ratings on Steam, where 87% of reviews are positive. On Metacritic, it received a score of 80. But while some players love the different landscapes and historical references, several complain about the random attributes of characters, their skills, and their weapons.

Furthermore, the game seems to impose a specific gameplay on players, depriving them of some freedom. Finally, many features are limited, and no solution seems to have been proposed by the developers.
