Publisher NipoBox Publishing is holding a special event on Steam, and as a promotional offer for this, it has discounted a small indie platformer by 100%. The free game under the spotlight is Kiki, which became available on the platform in April 2024.
While it launched with a price tag of $7.99, the publisher cut the retail price down to $4.99 in 2025, and now, it has dropped to $0. Of course, this Steam free game deal will be available for a limited time, with the store page noting the end date set at January 31, 2026.
At the core, Kiki is a fast-paced first-person platformer game that's built around momentum and precision. Players are tasked to complete the obstacle courses, and to finish the levels, they need to jump over traps, unlock gates, and collect objective items.
This free Steam game is noted to have simple mechanics, with movement, camera control, and timing being the only three core elements. There's full support for controllers as well. While it has some resemblance to Mirror's Edge, it's not a parkour game, and it's not as refined as the cult-classic that EA and Dice developed.
As noted in Steam reviews, the jumping controls are somewhat inconsistent, and there can be occasional delays. The lack of checkpoints means that any major error will require players to restart the level, which can be annoying.
However, thanks to its arcade-style gameplay, it can be worth trying for those who don't prefer extended play or a deep narrative. As for the visuals, while it has clean textures and bright colors, it's relatively easy to run. Check out the video below to learn more about this currently free game.
