Blizzard stealth dropped a two new classes for Diablo 4. Unlike the Spiritborn, this first one’s a Blizzard classic: the Paladin. The second one will be revealed when the DLC goes live on April 28. It is technically playable now alongside the new season, provided you pre-order the Lord of Hatred expansion. Actually buying the expansion, on the other hand, has proven to be a frustratingly difficult task.
Numerous users (myself included) across Reddit, Battle.net, X, and pretty much all platforms are unable to buy the expansion outright. Initially, users were greeted by a “Sorry, you’re not eligible to purchase Diablo IV: Lord of Hatred - Deluxe Edition” message on the Battle.net client. The client even changed currencies randomly in between. At the time of writing, the situation doesn’t seem to have gotten better.
While some users (especially those on the proverbial streamer client) could purchase Lord of Hatred, the Diablo 4 expansion remains inaccessible to most people. Blizzard says it is working on a fix, but it may be a while before the store is fully functional. One potential workaround is to buy the expansion as a gift and redeem in on your work account, but the success rate on that is iffy.
