ASRock unveils Taichi OLED gaming monitors with up to 720 Hz refresh rate, KVM, and 65W PD

ASRock has been selling motherboards, GPUs, and power supplies under its flagship Taichi brand for years. Now, the brand is growing to incorporate gaming monitors. ASRock has unveiled three new monitors with Gen 4 Penta Tandem OLED panels and up to a 720 Hz refresh rate.

ASRock Taichi TCO27USA, TCO27QXA, and TCO27QXB

All three monitors are 27-inch flat screens with high-bandwidth HDMI 2.1 and DisplayPort 2.1 ports, AMD FreeSync Premium Pro, KVM functionality, and USB Type-C with 65W Power Delivery. The Taichi TCO27USA has a 4K (3,840x2,160) QD-OLED panel with a 240 Hz refresh rate. It comes with VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400 certification, with 250 nits SDR brightness and a claimed 1,000 nits peak HDR brightness.

The Taichi TCO27QXA retains the QD-OLED panel but drops the resolution to 2,560x1,440. It can, however, push a 500 Hz refresh rate and comes with VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500 certification. The monitor also boasts 300 nits SDR brightness and 1,000 nits peak HDR brightness. Visually, the TCO27USA and the TCO27QXA look identical.

Lastly, the Taichi TCO27QXB features a dual-mode WOLED panel that can run at 2,560x1,440 with a 540 Hz refresh rate or switch to 720 Hz at HD resolution. ASRock doesn’t specify the exact resolution, but the ‘HD’ suggests 720p (1,280x720). This monitor is a bit brighter than the others at 335 nits SDR (claimed) and 1,500 nits peak HDR brightness (claimed). The VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500 certification is present here as well. The Taichi TCO27QXB has a Y-shaped stand rather than the hexagonal stand present on the other two.
