Galaxy Tab S12 series certified on Google Play Console with Wi-Fi and cellular versions

Samsung's next flagship tablets have shown up on Google Play's supported devices list. The listing covers the Galaxy Tab S12+ and Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra, each in Wi-Fi and 5G variants, which lines up with certification records that have surfaced in recent weeks.

The Tab S12+ appears under the codename gts12pwifi for its Wi-Fi model (SM-X840), while the 5G variants (SM-X846B, SM-X846E, SM-X846N, and SM-X848U) fall under gts12p. The Tab S12 Ultra follows the same split: gts12uwifi for the Wi-Fi model (SM-X940) and gts12u for the 5G versions (SM-X946B and SM-X946N).

Most of these model numbers aren't new. SM-X840 and SM-X846B already cleared BIS certification in India. SM-X946B and SM-X946N have turned up in South Korean and Bluetooth SIG filings. SM-X848U, meanwhile, surfaced in the FCC database, which points to a US release.

As for specifications, the Tab S12 series is expected to run on the Dimensity 9500. The Ultra is rumored to carry over its 14.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display and 11,600 mAh battery from the Tab S11 Ultra, while the Plus is tipped to stick with a 12.4-inch panel and a 10,600 mAh battery.

Samsung hasn't confirmed a launch date yet. But with IFA 2026 taking place in Berlin next month and the Tab S11 series having launched in September 2025, a similar timing window looks likely for the Tab S12 series.
