The IdeaPad Slim 3 15 is one of Lenovo's least expensive laptops in the market. Consequently, the series has been slow to adopt some features that have become commonplace on more expensive models like from the Yoga or ThinkPad families. The 2025 IdeaPad Slim 3 15, however, finally incorporates a few quality-of-life features that users on tighter budgets can now enjoy.
The most notable update involves the display which is now 16:10 instead of 16:9. The latter aspect ratio has been slowly dying in favor of the squarer and slightly more spacious 16:10 aspect ratio. Other changes include the reintroduction of a free SODIMM expansion slot and a slightly larger clickpad when compared to the 2024 IdeaPad Slim 3 15.
Unfortunately, the latest model still ships with a proprietary barrel AC adapter port and charger whereas most other laptops have moved on to universal USB-C charging only. The USB-C port on the 2025 IdeaPad Slim 3 15 supports USB-C charging as well meaning the model carries two charging options, but it would've still been preferable to replace the proprietary AC adapter charging port with a second USB-C port instead. It may be another year or two before the series finally drops support for barrel-type AC adapters.
