Insta360 Luna Ultra video, launch date leak: 12x zoom to challenge DJI Osmo Pocket 4 Pro

While DJI recently launched the Osmo Pocket 4 and officially teased the dual-camera "Osmo Pocket 4P" (Pro) model, Insta360 is preparing a massive counter offensive.
Recent rumors suggested a modular, detachable design and 6x optical zoom for the "Insta 360 Luna Ultra" - specs aimed directly at those who found DJI's new Pocket 4 too incremental. Now, the Luna Ultra finally has (rumored) launch date - May 15, which is about four weeks away from now.

Insta360 Luna Ultra live video leak confirms dual-cameras with 6x optical, 12x in-sensor zoom; DJI Osmo Pocket 4P (Pro) can't come soon enough
To get even more specific, new, blurry live footage of the Insta360 Luna Ultra has surfaced, and let’s just say that DJI might have 6-12 more reasons to worry. The Luna Ultra seems to have a robust design that "means business", confirming the choice of white as the main color/design option.
However, most notably, the video confirms a dual-camera array and a "12x zoom" toggle, building on previous 6x optical zoom leaks. The 12x zoom likely represents a 2x in-sensor lossless crop on the 6x telephoto lens, which would give the Luna a massive reach advantage over the Osmo Pocket 4P's expected 3x zoom (the Osmo Pocket 4’s single camera can do 2x lossless zoom).
With the Luna Ultra’s specs looking as impressive as they do, DJI must be feeling the heat. To protect its market share, the drone-maker might be forced to launch the dual-camera Osmo Pocket 4P (Pro) ASAP. That said, if the Luna Ultra truly offers 12x in-sensor zoom and a modular body (and it seems like it does), DJI’s "Pocket 4P" might need more than a second camera to stay on top.
