DJI has now released the Osmo Pocket 4 after months of leaks and rumours. Arriving without the rumoured Osmo Pocket 4 Pro in tow, the Osmo Pocket 4 replaces the Osmo Pocket 3 (curr. $499 on Amazon) with several subtle upgrades to improve the overall user experience.
For instance, DJI has added two new buttons beneath the camera's rotating display. While one handles zoom controls, the other is user-customisable. These buttons are hidden when the Pocket 4's display is in its portrait orientation though, as shown in the image below.
Setting that aside, DJI has installed a new 5D joystick and 107 GB of built-in storage while providing compatibility with its Osmo audio ecosystem. To that end, the Osmo Pocket 4 supports four-channel audio recording and can be paired with DJI's Mic Mini, Mic 2 or Mic 3 transmitters.
Moreover, the Osmo Pocket 4 ships with a 1-inch CMOS sensor featuring an f/2.0 aperture, a 20 mm equivalent focal length, 14 f-stops of dynamic range, 3-axis stabilisation and 4x digital zoom. The Osmo Pocket 4 can record in 10-bit D Log too at 4K/240 FPS in a 16:9 aspect ratio. DJI limits 9:16 recordings to 3K, though.
The Osmo Pocket 4 starts at €479 with its Essential Combo that includes a 1/4-inch thread, a carry case and a few other accessories. Alternatively, the new vlogging camera jumps by €20 for its Standard Combo with more accessories and to €619 for its Creator Combo bundle. The latter adds a Mic 3 transmitter, associated accessories like windscreens and DJI's new fill light.
Meanwhile, pricing starts at £445 in the UK and $477 for the Standard Combo in Canada, priced in US dollars. DJI does not currently list the Osmo Pocket 4 on its US website, though. Please see the company's Osmo Pocket 4 product page for more details.
