New Amazfit Helio Strap update brings sleep-related improvement

A new update is rolling out to the Amazfit Helio Strap. Firmware version 3.13.0.1 arrives around a month after the older 3.11.0.1 update, which was said to optimize the wearable’s sleep recognition algorithm.
The release notes for Amazfit Helio Strap firmware version 3.13.0.1 also mention an improvement to the sleep tracking algorithm for more accurate sleep detection. However, several users have flagged on Reddit that naps can still be missed or incorrectly identified when sat still. Also listed on the change log is an optimization for Pickleball Mode, with additional metrics like Forehand Stroke Count and Backhand Stroke Count.
Helio Strap users have noticed that, after installing the new software, the heart rate variability (HRV) measurement can drop below 20 ms. Plus, reports suggest that BioCharge scores are generally lower than before the update. On top of this, Amazfit suggests that it has resolved other minor bugs and provided general system stability improvements with this update.
Firmware version 3.13.0.1 is rolling out in phases to users of the Amazfit Helio Strap (curr. $99 at Amazon). As it is being released on a region-by-region basis, it may not be available in your country just yet. When it becomes available, you will be able to install the software via the Zepp smartphone app.
