More Amazfit smartwatch users get new running feature in update

The Amazfit Active Max smartwatch is receiving a new update, software version 3.7.0.1. This wearable was last updated in mid-March 2026 with software version 3.4.0.3, which added a dedicated Podcast app alongside new Rucking and Hybrid Training activities.
Amazfit is now pushing its Lactate Threshold measurement to the Active Max smartwatch. This metric should help users to monitor their endurance and to optimize their training accordingly. You can manually perform a Lactate Threshold Test by going to Workouts > Select a Running Sport > Settings > Training > Lactate Threshold Test. Alternatively, you can let the watch take these measurements automatically and view captured data in the Zepp app. The Lactate Threshold metric recently reached other models like the T-Rex 3 Pro, Balance 2 and the Active 3 Premium.
Another change arriving for the Active Max with software version 3.7.0.1 is improved sleep staging accuracy. This optimization for the sleep tracking algorithm is said to be able to more accurately detect the three sleep stages: Light, Deep and REM. On top of this, Amazfit indicates that it has made other minor system optimizations and fixed various bugs, without providing further information.
Software version 3.7.0.1 is currently rolling out in phases to users of the Amazfit Active Max (curr. $169.99 at Amazon). When available in your region, which could take a few days or weeks, you will be able to trigger the install process via the Zepp app.
