Amazfit smartwatch users get new running metric in update

The new Amazfit Active 3 Premium smartwatch is receiving its first software release. Firmware version 3.7.0.6 has been reported by early users of the recently released running wearable as an out-of-the-box update.
Amazfit’s firmware version 3.7.0.6 brings four features to the Active 3 Premium smartwatch. The first is support for advanced running metrics like running power, ground contact time and lactate threshold. It is the first wearable from the brand to receive the latter, an endurance marker. Amazfit has yet to confirm whether or when the new lactate threshold metric could reach other smartwatch models.
The Active 3 Premium also gets a training library with the update, as well as support for gear management and the ability to track the mileage for these connected accessories. On top of this, users of the smartwatch can listen to podcasts directly from the wearable. This podcast app was added to the T-Rex 3 smartwatch in a January 2026 update.
Users of the Amazfit Active 3 Premium smartwatch (curr. €169.90 at Amazon DE) will be able to install the update via the Zepp app. To do this, go to Profile > Amazfit Active 3 > System Update.
