OnePlus confirms periscope telephoto upgrade for compact flagship phone 15T

OnePlus is gearing up to launch a new compact flagship phone, the OnePlus 15T. It will be a direct successor to the 13T, which launched outside China as the 13S. While the company hasn't formally disclosed the launch date, Li Jie Louis, the company's president, has been teasing the smartphone for a while now.

With a recent post on Weibo, Louis shared that the upcoming compact phone will feature the LUMO periscope telephoto lens. Thanks to the upgrade in the algorithm, optical hardware, and tuning, the OnePlus 15T is touted to offer clearer distant shots and detailed portraits.

In the post, Louis further hints that the battery capacity will also see an upgrade over the predecessor, and the cooling setup is set to see an improvement as well. Even with all these upgrades, the thickness of the OnePlus 15T is said to be "well controlled."

The company's president even claims that it's "remarkably slim" and will offer a "lightweight" feel. While this post by Louis didn't mention anything specific, a recent leak from @OnePlusClub has painted a better picture of what to expect from the OnePlus 15T.

As we have covered in a separate post, this leak hints that the 15T will sport the same imaging algorithm as the OnePlus 15. It will reportedly have the same performance tuning, design language, and protection. Even the display is said to retain the 165Hz refresh rate. There's, however, no concrete information on the launch date, but the compact flagship phone is expected to make a Chinese debut sometime in March 2026. It could make a global debut after that as the OnePlus 15S.
