Garmin smartwatch users get new GPS-related alerts in update

Garmin is rolling out Lily 2 Active Software Version 5.08. This smartwatch update arrives a couple of months after the previous stable release, software version 5.07. Through the earlier update, users got improved golf distance accuracy and a bug fix for an issue with accidental button triggers.
The Software Version 5.08 release brings three changes for the Lily 2 Active smartwatch. Firstly, there is a new notification served to users when the GPS signal is lost, though this only occurs during a Golf activity. Garmin has also tackled a problem linked to the wearable’s Auto Activity Start feature. This tool enables timed activities to be automatically created and saved. A bug which meant it would not work reliably for walking and running workouts when enabled via the Garmin Connect Mobile app has been resolved.
Finally, Garmin states that it has updated and corrected localized translations. The company notes that the watch is now running Text Translations version 5.08, though which languages benefit from this upgrade is unknown.
According to a recent post in the Garmin Forum, Software Version 5.08 is currently available to 50% of users of the Lily 2 Active smartwatch (curr. $299.99 at Amazon). You can download and install the update either through the Garmin Connect Mobile app or via the Garmin Express computer software.
