Huawei's new high-end running smartwatch leaks before global release

Samsung has now wrapped up its latest Galaxy Unpacked event, where it has presented the Galaxy Buds4 and Galaxy Buds4 Pro as well as the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26 Plus and Galaxy S26 Ultra. While Xiaomi will be hosting an equivalent event on February 28, Huawei is next up with an international launch event of its own on February 26.
Huawei has already shared a few details about what it has in store, including the Mate 80 Pro, FreeBuds Pro 5 and the MatePad Mini. Additionally, it showcased the Watch GT Runner 2 as a potential Garmin Forerunner 970 alternative (curr. $649 on Amazon). Now, Roland Quandt has gone a step further by leaking product photos and hardware specifications ahead of time.
For instance, Quandt has revealed that the Watch GT Runner 2 features an AMOLED display with up to 14 days of battery life or 32 hours when its dual-band GPS is activated. Also, the smartwatch can take an electrocardiogram (ECG) and monitor heart rate variability (HRV).
On top of that, the Watch GT Runner 2 leverages a titanium build and comes with a choice of 'AirDry' watch bands. Apparently, the latter's design prevents the entire watch band from making contact with the skin. As a result, Huawei's AirDry bands should be ideal when running long distances or training for prolonged periods. Pricing remains unknown for now, though
