Huawei Mate 80 Pro Review: Another Stellar Camera
Source: Htxt Africa
At R21 999, the Mate 80 Pro comes in at less than last year’s Pura 80 Pro flagship phone, which would represent great value for money, especially when you factor in a superb camera performance. That does not paint the full picture, however, as there are some caveats. The two most notable are the software and component restrictions. Regarding the former, EMUI 15.0 does not feel like a modern UI and is far from the cleanest and most seamless software experiences. As for the latter, a lack of 5G and high-level processor is fine for now, but does not feel like it will be the case two years from now. It is these concessions that makes the Huawei Mate 80 Pro a device to fully recommend. In recent years, most of our Huawei flagship phones reviews have come with an asterisk, and the same goes for this latest device, but now the restrictions are starting to take their toll. While the camera performance is a standout in the industry, it is not enough to overlook areas where the Mate 80 Pro is found wanting.

HUAWEI Mate 80 Pro Review
Source: Yugatech
The Mate 80 Pro isn’t trying to win on benchmarks alone (because well, they can’t.) but that’s also what makes their efforts so interesting. HUAWEI has clearly shifted its focus toward reliability, consistency, and real-world usability. The cameras aim for accuracy over exaggeration, the battery is built to last, and the design emphasizes durability just as much as aesthetics. It’s not the most aggressive flagship out there, and it doesn’t chase every trend or spec sheet headline. But what it does offer is a more grounded, dependable flagship experience from HUAWEI in 2026. Despite some limitations, it definitely feels like it’s built to keep up with everyday life. In summary, it may not outperform its competition in terms of raw numbers, but it can easily outshoot and outlast most.

Huawei Mate 80 Pro review: Niche flagship
Source: Phone Arena
The more appropriate question is, "Could you buy it?" The phone is a decent full-fledged flagship with a great screen, good camera system, stellar battery life and last but not least - attractive design. Granted, the Kirin 9030 is far from the industry leaders when it comes to synthetic benchmarks, but the phone performs flawlessly in normal day-to-day activities. The phone starts at around $1000 (depending on the country and the conversion rate) but getting it in Europe or North America can be a tall order. Despite the great flagship package, the Mate 80 Pro remains a peculiarity in most regions of the world.

Huawei Mate 80 Pro (Global) Review: Small Update But Still Good
Source: ben's gadget reviews
The Huawei Mate 80 Pro is here, and to be honest, it seems to be an iterative update over the Mate 70 Pro Plus I tested barely a year ago. However, the phone still has an excellent super fast camera system and a great in-hand feel. Battery life and display are also top notch. The only downsides are the silicon not being bleeding edge, and software quirks.

Huawei Mate 80 Pro Specifications, Pros and Cons
Source: OI Spice Tech News
The Huawei Mate 80 Pro was announced and released on November 25, 2025, and it immediately stands out as a premium flagship with a strong mix of design and durability. It has a solid build that uses a glass front, aluminum alloy frame, and a fiber-reinforced plastic back, making it sturdy without feeling too heavy at 219g. Huawei gives it IP68/IP69 protection, meaning it can handle dust, deep water immersion, and even high-pressure water jets. The front is protected by Kunlun Glass 2, and the 6.75-inch LTPO OLED display looks excellent with 1B colors, 120Hz refresh rate, HDR Vivid support, and a sharp 1280 × 2832 resolution at about 460 ppi. The screen also uses 1440Hz PWM dimming for reduced flicker, making it comfortable for long use.
