Samsung has officially unveiled its next-generation S series smartphones at the Galaxy Unpacked event. The S26 series consists of the base Galaxy S26, the Galaxy S26+, and the Galaxy S26 Ultra. The smartphone comes with a dynamic AMOLED 2X display, a 50 MP primary camera, and Samsung’s in-house Exynos 2600 chipset.

Samsung has officially launched its latest S26 series at the Galaxy Unpacked event. The company’s latest S26 series consists of the Galaxy S26, the Galaxy S26+, and the Galaxy S26 Ultra smartphones. We already covered the base and ultra models, and you can read about them here.

This time around, a direct successor to the Galaxy S25+ (curr. available at $1,053 on Amazon) comes with Samsung's latest generation chipset, at least in Europe. Speaking more precisely, the S26+ is powered by a Samsung Exynos 2600 chipset coupled with up to 12 GB of RAM and up to 512 GB of internal storage with no room for storage expansion. Dimensionally, it’s exactly the same as its predecessor, measuring 7.3 mm (0.28 inches) in thickness and weighing around 190 grams (0.41 lbs).

As for the camera, it stays the same as the S25+. This means you get the same OIS-enabled 50 MP main camera, which is complemented by a 12 MP ultrawide shooter and a 10 MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom. Upfront, it has a 12 MP snapper for selfies and video chats. What’s changed is the camera housing; that’s it.

Software-wise, the device runs Android 16-based One UI 8.5 out of the box, and the company promises seven major OS updates (up to Android 23) and seven years of security updates until 2032. Furthermore, it boasts a 6.7-inch dynamic AMOLED 2X display that outputs at QHD+ resolution with 120 Hz adaptive refresh rate support. Unfortunately, there are no upgrades for battery capacity. It retains the same 4,900 mAh battery as the S25+ and supports 45 W wired and 20 W wireless charging. The rest of the highlights include an in-display fingerprint sensor, IP68 water resistance, Wi-Fi 7, and Bluetooth 5.4 connectivity.

The Samsung Galaxy S26 is currently available for pre-order at a retail price of €1,249. The official sale is scheduled for March 11 via Samsung’s official website and other authorized retailers. Interested buyers can choose from cobalt violet, white, black, and sky blue color options.
