Xiaomi 17 Max: 200 MP camera, big display, and an even bigger battery tipped

As previously reported, Xiaomi is working on yet another device in the Xiaomi 17 series. This phone, the Xiaomi 17 Max, is set to offer something of a middle ground between the Xiaomi 17 and the pricier "Pro" models.
According to Digital Chat Station, the Xiaomi 17 Max is currently being tested with upgraded dual, symmetrical speakers—keeping with the company's recent focus on audio quality as seen on devices like the Redmi K90 Pro Max and Poco F8 Ultra.
Camera-wise, the Xiaomi 17 Max is tipped to feature a 200 MP main snapper. That may sound impressive on paper but the sensor in question is likely the 1/1.4-inch ISOCELL HPX. Ergo, a downgrade on the 1/1.31-inch 50 MP camera on the vanilla Xiaomi 17. The presence of a periscope telephoto lens is expected to make up for that shortcoming, however.
Lastly, the 17 Max will arrive with a large, premium display—generally rumored to be a 6.9-inch one like on the more expensive Xiaomi 17 Pro Max. An 8,000 mAh battery has been mooted as well. It's unclear when the phone will make its debut in China but word on the grapevine indicates a March or April release could be on the cards.
