After releasing a slew of devices in the Xiaomi 17 series over the past few months, it appears Xiaomi isn't quite done with the lineup. The new Xiaomi 17 Ultra debuted in China just weeks ago, but the company still has yet another model in the works.
As shared by leaker Smart Pikachu, Xiaomi is readying the Xiaomi 17 Max to launch in the near future. Reportedly, the Xiaomi 17 Max is set to arrive as a larger version of the vanilla Xiaomi 17 that debuted back in September. It's unclear why exactly this device would even exist but Chinese netizens believe it's entirely due to poor sales of the standard Xiaomi 17—potentially hinting at a lack of interest in the compact phone. Or, at least, compared to its larger siblings.
Supposedly, the Xiaomi 17 Max is scheduled to arrive in the second quarter of the year, and could do so without a rear display. That choice could be considered logical, as it would prevent cannibalising sales of the more premium Xiaomi 17 Pro Max.
In addition to the Xiaomi 17 Max, the leaker also claims a new tablet is in the works. This device is said to be a large tablet and is planned to launch around the same time as the Xiaomi 17 Max, potentially even at the same event. No information is provided as to how it could be branded, but there's a chance it gets the "Xiaomi Pad 8 Max" badge.
