Vivo takes on OnePlus Nord 5 with new V70 Elite smartphone release

The Vivo V70 Elite is now officially available to pre-book in India. The most expensive option in the V70 series, the V70 Elite swaps the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 inside the V70 for the more powerful Snapdragon 8s Gen 3. In that sense, the V70 Elite should be about as fast as the OnePlus Nord 5 and the older Poco F6 (curr. $339.99 on Amazon).
Additionally, Vivo complements Qualcomm's chipset with up to 12 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 512 GB of UFS 4.1 storage. A 6,500 mAh silicon carbon battery with 90 W wired charging is also onboard, as is a 6.59-inch AMOLED display. Aided by IP69 dust and water resistance, this display outputs at 120 Hz with 5,000 nits peak brightness, a 32 MP front-facing camera, and an embedded ultrasonic fingerprint scanner.
Moreover, Vivo includes a 50 MP Sony LYT-700V primary camera (1/1.56-inch), as well as a Sony IMX882-derived telephoto that outputs at 50 MP with 3x optical zoom. An 8 MP ultra-wide-angle camera can be found within the V70 Elite's squircle-shaped camera housing, too. As the pictures above and below shows, Vivo packages all this hardware in Black Red or Sand Beige colours, which feature matching frames and camera housings.
The V70 Elite starts at INR 51,999 (~$571) with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB storage. However, the handset costs up to INR 61,999 (~$680) when configured with 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage. Please see Vivo's website for more details.
