Motorola Edge 70 Fusion could match Xiaomi Redmi Note 15 Pro Plus when it comes to performance

New details about the Edge 70 Fusion have emerged ahead of its official release. Earlier this month, Evan Blass shared dozens of promotional images of the same device. Now, Ytechb has discovered a key detail that contradicts previous claims.
To recap, the Edge 70 Fusion was expected to surpass its predecessor with a Snapdragon 7s Gen 3. However, Ytechb's latest leak reveals that Motorola has opted for the newer Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 instead. Practically speaking, little separates the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 from the newer Snapdragon 7s Gen 4.
Officially, the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 should surpass the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 by around 7% in CPU and GPU-heavy tasks. While this performance advantage does not bear out in our benchmarks, the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 boasts healthy performance upgrades over the Dimensity 7300 that powers the Edge 60 Fusion globally (curr. $379 on Amazon). By extension, the Edge 70 Fusion will rival the Redmi Note 15 Pro Plus when it comes to performance thanks to a shared chipset.
Also, the newly leaked image indicates that Motorola will sell the Edge 70 Fusion with up to 12 GB of RAM. Based on early leaks, Motorola will complement this hardware with 256 GB of storage, a 7,000 mAh battery and 68 W charging. Also, the device is expected to launch with a 6.78-inch AMOLED display that combines a 1.5K resolution with a 144 Hz refresh rate and 5,000 nits peak brightness. A release date and pricing remain unknown for the time being, though.
