Garmin announces massive new Feature Update for multiple smartwatches

Garmin has announced its latest Feature Update for multiple smartwatches. The first of 2026, this Feature Update replaces the one that Garmin announced in November 2025. As always, Garmin has introduced countless stable updates in the intervening period.
Thus, some of the features contained within the graphics and comparison table below may have already reached some smartwatches. For reference, Garmin has included the following smartwatches in its February 2026 Feature Update:

- Fenix 8
- Fenix 8 Pro
- Fenix E
- Forerunner 570
- Forerunner 970
- Instinct 3
- Instinct Crossover AMOLED
- Instinct E
- Quatix 8
- Quatix 8 Pro
- Tactix 8
- Tactix 8
- Venu 4
- Venu X1
- Vivoactive 6
Garmin is focusing on seven new features with its latest Feature Update. For instance, Garmin Fitness Coach will be expanded to more smartwatches after debuting on the Venu 4 (curr. $549 on Amazon). Other improvements include Varia Voice Alerts, Sport Scores and a Course Planner feature. Also, Garmin has added the option of seeing how aligned you are to your circadian rhythm through something called Sleep Alignment.
The comparison table highlights that other new features are coming too though, including Battery Manager and Expanded Morning Report for the Instinct 3 series. Garmin will introduce these new features gradually and has not put a firm timeline on when the February 2026 Feature Update rollout will finish.
