Garmin’s Connect app has been updated to version 5.22
A new version of the Garmin Connect app, version 5.22, is now available for iOS. While the release notes for the update do not reveal many details, two changes have been reported by users of the brand’s wearables. One of these is linked to the battery level of connected devices.

Garmin Connect version 5.22 is now available for wearable users with iOS devices. The last update, version 5.21, arrived in January 2026, triggering a connectivity issue for some customers; this has since been resolved.

Garmin is now rolling out Connect version 5.22 for iOS. The official change log at the Apple App Store states that the update brings bug fixes and minor performance improvements to users. However, Garmin wearable users have reported more details about these changes on Reddit.

Firstly, you can now view the real-time battery level of some connected devices. This data, presented as a percentage and as a partially filled battery icon, can be found when you click on the devices icon in the top right-hand of the app (screenshot below). This feature has been confirmed as available for users of smartwatches like the Forerunner 955 (curr. $479.99 at Amazon Marketplace) and the epix (Gen 2). Another new feature is the ‘+’ icon, set to the left of the sync and device list icons in the top right-hand corner of the app. This is a new shortcut to add another wearable to the app.

You can now download Garmin Connect version 5.22 from the Apple App Store. It remains to be seen when Garmin Connect version 5.22 will arrive at the Google Play Store for Android device users. Whether it will also include this battery status feature is unknown.
