Amazfit pushes new running metric and BioCharge to smartwatch

Amazfit has pushed the first software update to the new T-Rex Ultra 2. This premium smartwatch, which features a larger 51 mm face and an 870 mAh battery, was launched in mid-February 2026.
It has since been reported that firmware version 3.1.6.1 is rolling out to users of the T-Rex Ultra 2. The change log for this update indicates that it brings two colors to the wearables flashlight: white and green. It also adds a voice memo function, which can be used mid-workout, though not when fishing or underwater. Plus, there is a new Night Vision mode shortcut in the Control Center.
Firmware version 3.1.6.1 improves the T-Rex Ultra 2’s map functionality, with extra coordinate formats and systems, and support for offline route planning. On top of this, the update adds the Recreational Scuba Diving feature activity mode, the popular BioCharge energy level monitoring tool, and a Grade-Adjusted Pace for Outdoor Running and Trail Running.
Users of the Amazfit T-Rex Ultra 2 smartwatch ($549.99 at Amazon) can download firmware version 3.1.6.1 via the Zepp app for iOS or Android. You can find the update by going to Profile > T-Rex Ultra 2 > System Update.
