Casio appears to be working on a new G-Shock watch: the GDG-B100. This upcoming model was recently spotted in a certification database in Indonesia. While its specifications have yet to be officially announced by the Japanese brand, the model number points to one key feature.

A new Casio G-Shock watch, the GDG-B100, has been spotted. The upcoming model can be found in the database for the SDPPI, the Directorate General of Resources and Equipment for Post and Information Technology in Indonesia. While the filing in the database linked to the regulatory body does not confirm its specifications, the model number hints at some of its features.

The “B” in the G-Shock GDG-B100 model number suggests that this will be a Bluetooth watch. Using Casio’s Smartphone Link, users may be able to get automatic time adjustments and tools like a phone finder via the Casio watches app.

However, it is unclear what the “GDG” could stand for. Dedicated Casio blog Great G-Shock World suggests that the GDG-B100 is a Bluetooth version of the GD-100 (GD100-1B curr. $70.98 at Amazon). This is a round digital watch with a split display and two indicators. Instagram user geesgshock has a different theory (post below), speculating that this could be a purely digital version of the Mudmaster GG-B100. Another possibility is that this is a hybrid watch, like the GWG-100 or GSG-100 models.

Casio has yet to officially acknowledge the upcoming G-Shock GDG-B100 watch. It is unclear when it will be released, and at what price.
