New Huawei blood sugar monitoring wearable could be on the way

A new Huawei blood sugar monitoring wearable is said to be in development. In 2023, the company launched its first smartwatch with a blood glucose tracking feature, the Watch 4. However, this tool is only available on the Chinese version of the wearable. More recently, Huawei announced a new Diabetes Risk Study feature, which will roll out to devices like the Watch GT 6 Pro smartwatch (curr. €314.90 at Amazon DE).
Now, Weibo-based leaker Fixed-Focus Digital (定焦数码) suggests that Huawei is working on another blood glucose monitoring wearable. According to the source, the technology used in the new model will be “more precise” than its predecessor, though no data is provided to back this up. Further details, like the wearable’s design, have also yet to be confirmed. Website Huawei Central suggests that this is a new version of the Huawei Watch D, though it does not provide the source of this information.
According to Fixed-Focus Digital, Huawei will launch its new blood sugar monitoring wearable in Q2 2026, so at some point between early April and late June. Whether this device will be exclusive to China or available in other markets like Europe remains to be seen.
