Known for its audiophile-grade headphones, Beyerdynamic is showcasing two new wireless gaming headsets. The more portable MMX 150 utilizes powerful 40 mm drivers with a detachable Meta Voice mic. At a higher price, the MMX 230 has added benefits such as Bluetooth 6.0 support and a replaceable battery.

Beyerdynamic is expanding its lineup of wireless gaming headsets with the MMX 150 and MMX 230. The German manufacturer aims to bring the finely tuned soundscapes of its studio headphones to the cordless form factor. Gamescom 2025 attendees can try out both headsets before they release in Q4 2025.

Canadian buyers will be able to purchase the MMX 150 for $249.99, while pricing in Europe is set at €179.00. Available in black and Arctic white colorways, the headset appears reasonably compact. That portability is aided by a detachable Meta Voice (Most Effective Tactic Available) microphone. The well-padded ear cushions conceal 40 mm dynamic drivers. Explosions in games can be more impactful while minimizing distortion of mid and high tones.

Beyerdynamic promises easy pairing to PCs, consoles, and mobile devices through a low-latency USB-C wireless dongle. The MMX 150 should last for approximately 50 hours of gameplay before recharging is necessary.

The Beyerdynamic MMX 230 has a modular construction

The Beyerdynamic MMX 230 is the new flagship of the MMX series. Priced at $349.99 in Canada and €249.00 in Europe, it will also debut in black and white exteriors. The wireless gaming headset again features 40 mm dynamic drivers. However, it also includes enhanced pairing options and customization.

Bluetooth 6.0 support should allow for higher bandwidth and lower latency connectivity. Meanwhile, the wireless adapter remains an alternative for PC and console users. Battery life stands at 60 hours, but unlike with many headset rivals, the battery is easily replaceable. With its modular velour earpads, the MMX 230 may prove to be a worthwhile long-term investment.

Appealing to esports pros, the MMX 230 relies on an environmental noise cancellation (ENC) microphone. The technology ensures that teammates only hear a player’s voice, rather than background clatter.

Beyerdynamic is not new to the wireless gaming headset space, with the MMX 200 available in some regions. Still, the MMX 150 and MMX 230 address complaints with the model by offering app-based tuning.
