Beyerdynamic has unveiled the DJ 300 PRO X and DJ 300 PRO X CLUB headphones for professional disc jockeys. Both are identical in features and performance, but they differ in color. The PRO X comes in all-black while the PRO X CLUB comes in black with silver earcup hangers.
The closed-back headphones were developed to produce low-distortion sound even at high volume levels necessary for live DJ performances in clubs and other venues across their frequency range of 5 Hz to 35 kHz, according to Beyerdynamic.
The 45 mm drivers and sweat-resistant leatherette ear pads are mounted to a padded headband, with a total weight of 315 g (11.1 oz.). Both over-ear and on-ear earpads are included and can be swapped to one's liking. The headphones support a maximum SPL of 122 dB with on-ear earpads and 117 dB with over-ear earpads.
The headphones connect to a detachable 1.5 m (4.9 ft.) coiled cable terminating in a 3.5 mm plug with an impedance of 48 ohms. A 3.5 mm-to-6.35 mm (1/8 to 1/4 in.) adapter is included for convenience. The earcups can rotate to save space during transport, and the Design Cover Caps over each earcup can be personalized with custom designs. The ear pads, ear caps, headband pads, and cables are user-replaceable.
The Beyerdynamic DJ 300 PRO X series headphones have an MSRP of $249/€199. They are available from the company's website and soon from the Beyerdynamic store on Amazon US.
