The HyperX Cloud Alpha 2 has made its official debut alongside a bunch of new gaming-focused accessories introduced by HP. One of the major highlights of the wireless headset is the rated 250 hours of battery life, which, however, can only be possible on the 2.4 GHz mode.
Another notable feature of the wireless gaming headset is the included RGB Base Station. As HP notes, it's an audio control hub with programmable buttons, macros, and RGB lighting. It also has onboard controls and offers seamless device switching, which should provide added flexibility on any setup.
Connectivity-wise, besides the 2.4 GHz mode, the HyperX Cloud Alpha 2 has support for wired and Bluetooth 5.2 modes. These multiple connection modes make the wireless headphones compatible with PC, Mac, mobile, Xbox, and PlayStation.
Regarding the audio, HP highlights that the Cloud Alpha 2 comes with 53 mm dual-chamber drivers. They are said to offer "high-fidelity" sound with the "lowest level" of distortion. There's support for spatial audio as well, which comes with the integration of HyperX Ngenuity.
Speaking of which, HyperX Ngenuity offers the option to customize the audio performance according to preference. For example, it lets users personalize the EQ, lighting controls, and audio controls.
Among the other highlights of the HyperX Cloud Alpha 2 gaming headphones are breathable microfiber earpads, a metal frame, and a detachable 10 mm boom mic with a built-in mesh filter. HP has yet to share the pricing and availability details of the wireless headset, but it's worth noting that the wireless version of the first-gen gaming headset launched with a $199.99 tag (curr. $142.99 on Amazon).
