8BitDo expands availability of new wireless Xbox One and Xbox Series controller to more markets

8BitDo has expanded the availability of its limited edition 3-mode controller for Xbox. Officially presented a week ago after a last-minute leak, the controller has been designed to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Rare, a British video game developer and studio that now sits within the Xbox Game Studios division.

As we discussed last week, the controller is available to order on Amazon for $89.99, which is a $20 markup on the standard Ultimate 3-mode controller for Xbox. For that price difference, 8BitDo has added wireless connectivity with Xbox One and Xbox Series consoles courtesy of an included 2.4 GHz USB dongle. Incidentally, the new controller supports Apple and Android devices via Bluetooth too.

In a tweet, 8BitDo has clarified that the Ultimate 3-mode Controller - Rare 40th Anniversary Edition is now available to order on Amazon UK. At the time of writing, the controller can be picked up in the UK for £69.99. Unfortunately, the controller will not begin shipping in the UK until October 31 or about six weeks after units should start reaching those who pre-ordered the same controller in North America.
