GPD has showcased the Win 5 again in a series of videos. While the company has also boasted of the gaming handheld's excellent performance and cooling capabilities, it has teased that the GPD Win 5 will be 'much cheaper' than the comparably powerful Asus ROG Flow Z13, too.

GPD continues to tease its next major gaming handheld release following its full debut earlier this month at ChinaJoy 2025 in Shanghai. To recap, the company shared two detailed videos from that event on social media. While the GPD Win 5 is unquestionably the most powerful gaming handheld announced to date alongside the Ayaneo Next II, Fans have expressed their discontent over certain design choices.

Since then, GPD has been drip-feeding more information about the Win 5 across its social media channels. For instance, the company has showcased that the gaming handheld supports Biwin's Mini SSDs that provide 2 TB storage expansion using PCIe Gen4 x2 and the NVMe 1.4 protocol. Moreover, GPD has shown that one can swap Win 5 batteries without shutting down the handheld itself.

On top of that, GPD has reiterated that the Win 5 can maintain a 55 W TDP while keeping the Ryzen AI Max+ 395 APU at around 70°C and exceeding 100 FPS in modern triple-A games. Separately, the company has suggested that the Win 5 could cost less than expected. Replying to a YouTube comment, GPD indicated that the Win 5 will be 'much cheaper than the Z13', which means it will be less expensive than Asus' latest ROG Flow Z13 (curr. $2,299.99 on Amazon).

Currently, that device starts at $2,099 with the Ryzen AI Max 390. Thus, one should expect the Win 5 to undercut the ROG Flow Z13 with a sub- $2,000 price tag. GPD is expected to launch the Win 5 this October.
