OneXPlayer has teased a new gaming handheld, the Super X. From the teaser video, it appears to be an upgraded version of the X1 Pro, which launched as a Strix Point system with the AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370. The upcoming device, on the other hand, packs the top-of-the-line APU from the Strix Halo lineup.
To be specific, OneXPlayer has confirmed that the Super X features the Ryzen AI Max+ 395. This APU sports 16 Zen 5 cores, and most importantly, it comes with the Radeon 8060S iGPU, the top-performing RDNA 3.5 integrated graphics from AMD with 40 CUs.
Per our analysis, this iGPU is on par with the RTX 4070 Laptop, which should make the upcoming Strix Halo OneXPlayer Super X a better performer than the Ryzen Z2 Extreme gaming handhelds. The company further highlights that its upcoming device can offer 120 W of performance and has an advanced VC cooling setup.
Another notable upgrade over the X1 Pro (available on Amazon) is the display. While the company's Strix Point gaming handheld has an IPS display, the upcoming device sports an AMOLED screen. It's said to offer a "2.8K" resolution and have support for VRR, but the company didn't specifically mention the size of the display.
Other highlights from the teaser video include a thin body measuring 12.5 mm, an aluminum chassis, and a decent selection of ports. OneXPlayer says that the Super X will begin its testing phase soon, and the company has yet to reveal when this Strix Halo gaming handheld will launch.
