Ayaneo says Pocket S2 shipping to resume next week; plans to ship all orders by early September

Following its announcement in June, the Ayaneo Pocket S2 has been available to back on the crowdfunding site, Indiegogo. Ayaneo began shipping some units to early backers in late July despite the fact that the crowdfunding date is set to end on August 19. Now, a new update on the Indiegogo page has revealed that shipping will resume in the coming week alongside some other details.

According to the post, Ayaneo says that shipping of the Pocket S2 handheld will resume next week, and this time, all orders will be processed and not just a batch of 30 units as it did in July. The manufacturer also added that it plans to ship all orders by the end of August or early September as it has improved production of the handheld so as to clear its backlog. Tracking details will be sent via email to buyers.

There are still a few days left before the crowdfunding ends which means there's still a chance for interested buyers to get the Ayaneo Pocket S2 at the early bird price of $440 for the base model with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage and $501 for the 12GB RAM and 256GB version (original price is $440 and $561 respectively). To convince those sitting on the fence, Ayaneo says all orders made in the next 7 days (counting from August 16) will be shipped by late August or early September.

The Ayaneo Pocket S2 is an Android-powered handheld with a 6.3-inch 1440p IPS display. If you want an OLED display, there's the Ayaneo Pocket EVO which has a 7-inch 120Hz OLED display and costs $459 on Amazon. The Pocket S2 is powered by the Snapdragon G3 Gen 3 processor, and has an 8,000mAh battery capacity.

It also has an aluminum frame, TMR joysticks, storage expansion, a USB-C 3.2 port, and an audio jack. There's also a pro model with a larger 10,000mAh battery, faster charging, a replaceable D-pad,16GB RAM, and up to 1TB of storage.
